What is a patron saint?
Patron saints are chosen as special protectors or guardians over areas of life. These areas can include occupations, illnesses, churches, countries, causes — anything that is important to us. The earliest records show that people and churches were named after apostles and martyrs as early as the fourth century. Recently, the popes have named patron saints but patrons can be chosen by other individuals or groups as well. Patron saints are often chosen today because an interest, talent, or event in their lives overlaps with the special area.

What is Theodore Robert the Patron Saint of?
Illegitimate children and Serial Killers, of course.

St. Theodore
Theodore Robert Cowell was born on November 24, 1946 to an unwed Eleanor Louise Cowell. His father’s identity is unknown. He was raised by his mother and it is rumored that he was under the assumption that she was his sister and his maternal grandparents were his parents. However, he always recognized his mother as his mother, and he has said his grandfather was a positive and valued influence in his life. When Theodore was four years old, his mother took him and moved to Tacoma, Washington but not before having Ted’s name legally changed from Cowell to Nelson, in an effort to protect him from being recognized as illegitimate. There in Tacoma, Eleanor met Johnnie Culpepper Bundy, whom she later married, giving her son his third name, Theodore Robert Bundy.

Theodore Robert Bundy, Ted Bundy, became the most infamous and influential serial killer of all time. He has been dead for over twenty years, yet he continues to be the subject of film, novels, artists, writers, and even religious sermons (if you can believe that). His own admission that pornography was the source of his ultimate downfall has left his memory vulnerable to becoming the infinite example of why pornography kills.

If ever there should be a Patron Saint of illegitimate childen and serial killers, Theodore Robert Cowell Nelson Bundy should be the one.

Star A.D.
See tomorrow dreamin’
You don’t need your freeom
Star A.D.
A little joke that’s understood
All over the world
A little joke that’s understood
It’s all over and over and over and over
And dying is dry –
Like a fact of history
And when you die, you’ll become something worse
Than dead –
You’ll become
A legend
We are forever
